Synopsis of the Show :
The year is 1964. The reforms of the Second Ecumenical Council are beginning to foment change throughout the Catholic church. In a parochial school in the Bronx, Sister Aloysius Beauvier faces her own struggle, to expose a dark secret she believes threatens the children, her school, and the church.
Doubt, a Parable by Patrick Shanley swept up every theater honor when it appeared on Broadway: the Tony Award for Best Play, a Drama Desk Award for Best New Play, and the 2005 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. This taut, four-person play is less about the guilt or innocence of the parish priest than it is about questions of doubt and moral certainty. Caught in the middle between two formidable forces are the innocent teacher Sister James, and Mrs. Muller, the mother of the school's only black child on whom the suspected scandal centers.
